My Story of Perseverance: Running for D15 CEC and Not Winning, But Still Winning

Turning Defeat into Victory

It started with a spark of hope. I had a dream to make a difference in my community and I was determined to do it. When the opportunity to run for D15 CEC came up, I decided to take the plunge and try and make a change. Despite not having a campaign and very little support, I was determined to fight for the people in my district.

I didn’t win the election, but I still consider that a win. I received 191 votes, which is a remarkable feat considering the circumstances. I also went on to become the PTA President at PS15, and was promoted to Senior Manager of Communications.

I never let anyone tell me that I couldn’t do something. I faced a lot of closed doors and people saying “no” to me, but I never let that stop me. I kept pushing forward and kept striving to make a difference.

My efforts to make a change in my community didn’t end with the D15 CEC election. I am still determined to make a difference and be an advocate for the people of my district. I want to show people that it’s possible to make a difference, even when it seems like the odds are against you.

No matter what, I will never give up on my dreams. I will continue to fight for the people in my district and make a positive difference in our community.
